Got Questions? We’ve Got Answers to Guide Your Musical Growth!

How often are lessons?
Lessons are held once a week, on the same day and time each week. Every year we have a high demand and a waiting list; as a result, biweekly lessons and customized schedules are not available. Some students may opt for multiple lessons per week depending on their goals.
What age can students start music lessons?
We offer programs for a wide range of ages. Some group programs start as early as 1 year old (e.g., Kindermusik), while private lessons typically begin around age 5, depending on the instrument and the child’s readiness.
How long are the lessons?
Private lessons are usually 30 or 45 minutes. Group classes vary by program, ranging from 30 to 45 minutes.
What instruments do you teach?
We offer lessons in piano, guitar, voice, drums, ukulele, bass and Kindermusik . Contact us to see what’s currently available.
How much should students practice?
We recommend daily practice, even if it’s just 15–30 minutes for beginners. Consistency is key to progress.
What are your policies for absences and make up lessons?
All efforts are made to keep lessons affordable, therefore there will be no tuition deduction or reimbursement for missed lessons. Missed classes are considered as “classes taken”.
If a student is unable to attend a lesson, at least 24 hours’ notice is required to be eligible for a make-up lesson.
A maximum of two in person make-up lesson per semester will be offered, based on teacher availability. Make-up lessons are not guaranteed and cannot be carried over to the next term.
No-shows or same-day cancellations will not be eligible for a make-up lesson.
If you have a major commitment—such as a pre-scheduled vacation or medical procedure—please inform us prior to the start of the session so we can explore possible arrangements.
When in-person attendance isn’t possible due to transportation difficulties, mild illness, or scheduling conflicts, students are encouraged to attend their scheduled lesson via Zoom on their time slot.
In the event of a teacher absence or studio-related scheduling issue, a make-up lesson will be arranged or a credit will be issued.
What happens if I want to terminate lessons before the session is done?
If a student chooses to end lessons before the session concludes, a $50 administrative fee will apply, along with the loss of any remaining prepaid tuition. We kindly ask for one month’s written notice in advance.
Tuition is non-refundable for the month in which notice is provided. Any future payments scheduled beyond that month will be cancelled.
In some cases, the school may need to discontinue lessons due to ongoing absences, disruptive behavior, or outstanding payments. We always aim to work with families to find a solution before taking this step.
Do I need an instrument to start lessons?
Yes, having access to an instrument at home is highly recommended from the start of lessons. Regular practice between lessons is essential for progress. If you don’t have an instrument yet, we’re happy to offer guidance on rental or purchase options.
Do you offer performance opportunities?
Yes! We host student recitals and performances throughout the year to help students build confidence and share their progress. Participation is encouraged but not mandatory.
What’s included in the tuition?
Tuition includes weekly private lessons, participation in two recitals, and access to a professionally maintained and insured learning environment.
What’s included in the registration fee?
The registration fee helps cover administrative setup, student record processing, personalized program planning, scheduling coordination, and access to studio policies. It also includes a welcome package to help students get started smoothly.
Do you prepare students for exams?
Yes, we offer an academic track for students preparing for Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM).
Can adults take lessons too?
Absolutely! We welcome students of all ages and skill levels, including adult beginners and those returning to music after a break.
What are your health protocols?
Hand washing right before the class is a must!
If you or your child are experiencing any of the following symptoms—persistent cough, sneezing, or fever—please keep them at home and do not bring them to the studio. This helps ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students and staff. Schedule an online lesson instead.
Please advise us if you or your child have any medical issues or allergies.
How can I help my child practice?
Create a Routine. Set a consistent time each day for practice. Short, daily sessions (15–30 minutes, depending on age and level) are more effective than one long session per week. Provide a Quiet Practice Space distraction-free with proper lighting and a comfortable setup.
Be Involved (Especially for Younger Students) From time to time sit with your child during practice, help them follow the teacher’s notes. Just showing interest makes a big difference.
Use a Practice Chart, Timer, Point system. Visual tools can help children stay motivated and see their progress.
Praise effort and consistency, not just perfection. Celebrate small wins!
Stay in Communication with the Teacher.
Can I drop off my child and pick him up and the end of the lesson?
Yes, you may drop off your child and return at the end of the lesson. However, we ask that you arrive promptly for pick-up, as we are unable to provide supervision outside of scheduled lesson times.
What are the class expectations?
Consistent attendance and regular practice are essential for progress. Each week, students will be assigned new material to practice at home. While repertoire and recital pieces may take several weeks to master, students are generally expected to cover a few pages from their method book and new technical exercises each week. If you notice that the same homework is being repeated for various weeks it may be a sign that additional practice time is needed.
What should I bring to an class?
-Book method. Which will be assigned by your teacher on the first class.
-Pencil.
-Any sheets or printed music assigned by your teacher.
Place them in a binder or duotang folder.
-Piano students will need a music notebook, also known as manuscript paper or music paper, which is preprinted with staves (sets of five horizontal lines) for writing musical notation.
